I knew from the get go, their placement with the buttons were horrendous. They should have adapted the standard button layout to the upper right side, with the right analogue below it. Terrible design choice.

Ok, here's the main gripe about the appearance. It's 2021 and the visual trends are no mystery. This is a pretty advanced piece of tech and it looks outdated before ever being released. Those bezels are from 2015 and in tech years, that's grandpa age. If it's not extremely visually pleasing to the buyer, not as many will want it. No matter how well it works. I'm not saying it's ugly but they could have done better with the screen alone. Bezels are even acceptable to a screen you're holding with your hands, but you're not in this case. There are controllers for that.

Daminit I want one however, I can see this device suffers from the same problem the PSP suffered from. The controls and placement! I'm sure they didn't wish to just "bite" off of gaming controllers but they should have. If while playing it doesn't sit in your hand properly you wont play games on it for long. The weight of the device has to be made worse by the control placement/body design.
